Understanding the specific characteristics of street children and their lifestyle is very important for evolving suitable strategies to address their needs. Street children are not willing to be helped unless they have faith and trust in the worker. They are resourceful with high coping capacity. Their ego remains intact despite living under very adverse conditions.
Out of 6 contact centers the center at K.K.Marg School is running exclusively for development) of adolescent girls since 1998. Currently, 80 girls in the age group of 10 to 18 years are provided with various services, such as health care, nutrition, formal and non-formal education, skills training, coaching classes’ recreation, family life education and counseling.
Children Development Khazana is a Bank for children and managed by children on co-operative principles. The vision of this Bank is to empower the street and working children who are one of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of our society.Hamara Foundation took this pride to initiate CDK Project and implement it at the grass root level in Mumbai.
